Who Can Take the YÖS Exam 2024
The most important requirement to apply for YÖS is to be a foreign national or a Turkish citizen who completed high school education outside Turkey. If any of these conditions apply to you, the rest of the conditions below apply:
Being a high school graduate or a final year student
Being a foreign national with a blue card
Turkish citizens with dual nationality
Turkish citizens who completed their high school education in any foreign country other than TRNC
Northern Cypriots who reside in Northern Cyprus and completed their high school education in Northern Cyprus and have a GCE AL result

How are the YÖS Exam Questions?
There are generally three sections in YÖS exams: math, geometry and general skills. Questions are usually between 80 – 100 questions depending on the university. Mathematics is usually between 30 – 40 questions, Geometry is usually between 5 – 15 questions and general abilities are usually between 40 – 60 questions. Very few, but some universities ask questions from different subjects. These subjects can be from physics, chemistry, biology and history taught in high school.
Mathematics and Geometry are asked very comprehensively. The general aptitude section asks scientific and formal questions to test candidates’ critical thinking. The general aptitude section is known as the IQ section among students. The exam duration is usually between 90 and 130 minutes.
